Emotion Regulation

Emotion regulation can often be quite challenging, and intense emotions can make it difficult for us to feel in control. On the other hand, sometimes you might try and disconnect from your emotions because they feel uncomfortable and you worry about losing control. This might lead you to feel like you need to avoid certain situations that might cause you to experience intense emotions like anger or anxiety, or maybe you put a bunch of effort into shoving those emotions down entirely.

Emotions are something we’re built with, and they’re a part of who we are. They sometimes provide us with some of the most satisfying and enriching feelings, and other times they leave us wishing that we didn’t have them at all.

Emotions can be an incredible source of information for us, often providing some incredibly useful insight into our experiences and what we need in specific moments. I can provide you with a better understanding of the different themes that exist with emotions, allowing you to better understand the purpose behind feeling the way that you do. I can help you to shift your perspective to see your emotions as a useful tool to better understand yourself, instead of looking at them as the enemy or something that needs to be pushed down or ignored. I assist you in building trust in your emotions and using them with your logical mind, allowing you to have a more balanced way of thinking that feels more responsive, not reactive.
